chinese new year

i realised the older i get, the more meaningless i find chinese new yr… i used to get excited over CNY and looked fwd to it..but in recent yrs, i just find it getting meaningless & bo liao…
probably bcos i haven’t got a big family, plus all grandparents have passed away, so hardly contact the relatives. well, for some relatives, i just c them once a yr during CNY..and itz sometimes meaningless & frustrating answering their same questions every yr…
when u haven’t got a bf, they’ll ask: got bf or not? y havent?
when u’ve got a bf, they’ll start asking: y u nvr bring ur bf here? when r u gettin married?
aft u get married, they’ll ask: y stil haven got a baby? when r u getting a baby?
when u’ve got ur 1st baby, they’ll ask: when r u getting ur 2nd child?
aft u’ve got ur 2nd child, they’ll ask: when r u getting ur 3rd child?
so isn’t it meaningless? or maybe they r just finding topics to talk about… but i just can’t be bothered to talk about diz topics.. and maybe the age gap between my cousins & i is reli too big… so big that i don belong to their generation & vice versa..
nowadays, no matter what festival, wat holiday, to me, it is just another public holiday, nothing special… wat brought about dis change in me, i dunno… izit bcos grow old liao datz y i tink dis way? or wat…
after i start wrking, most prob will just go travelling during CNY…hmm, to avoid relative-visiting ba…
